Week Two

In Part Six, we dragged objects from one canvas to another. The stars of course came from the image we just completed on the last page. Here is my woven circle again, with a little Gaussian blur applied.

Here is another version of the same, with changes in the fill and stroke.

Assignment Two was to make at least two new shapes, and I began with this one using an imported brick pattern from my Paint Shop Pro program.

Here, I took the same image and changed the blending mode to "Difference." I also changed the size of the image, and edited the pattern by rotating the handle. The second shape began as an ellipse, with another pattern from PSP called "smearing gold." I had quite a bit of fun with the stroke, using oil, textured bristle, swish texture, an inner bevel, and a drop shadow. As I played with the different effects, I didn't write down every step so I can't tell you exactly how I created this one of a kind design. It's such a well-kept secret that even I don't know.

I had a great time playing with the different effects this week.
